What is the difference between 14k solid gold and gold filled?

Gold, as a precious metal, is mined and processed as pure gold or 24 karats. While this is the most valuable form of the metal, 24k gold is very soft, easily damaged or misshaped. Most all jewelry made from gold is an alloy made of gold and other metals, usually silver, copper and zinc. The number of karats is the relative amount of pure gold in the alloy. We find that 14k gold provides the best quality items at a competitive price. If you are interested in higher purity gold feel free to contact us for a custom order. 

As opposed to 14k solid gold, which is a mixture of pure gold with other metals, gold filled is a base metal, usually brass or copper, with a solid layer of gold mechanically bonded on top of it. This process has a larger amount of gold attached to the base metal in comparison to gold plated jewelry. As such gold filled wears, looks and lasts like solid gold. Our gold filled jewelry offers the same look and shine of 14k solid gold, but at a more affordable price.   

What do the gauge and hoop sizes mean?

The gauge and size are the dimensions of the materials used for the jewelry we produce. The gauge refers to the thickness of metal wire used. The larger the number is, the thinner the wire is and vice versa. The size refers to the inner diameter of the item. It does not include the item itself.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We make our jewelry by hand and to order. We try our best to fulfill all orders within 1-2 business days from the time they arrive. Our business is based in Israel and we try our best to get our products to you safely and in a timely manner. We expect most international deliveries to arrive within 14 business days; however, it may vary according to your mail carrier, the country, and the time of year. We try our best to get your orders to you as quickly as possible. 

How should I care for my jewelry?

This jewelry has been handcrafted by us with great detail to design and quality. To fully enjoy your jewelry we recommend the following:

  1. Shower with your jewelry on, or wash it with soap and water after you wear it.
  2. When you are not wearing your jewelry, store it in a closed zip lock bag, keeping your jewelry nice and shiny.
  3. Store your jewelry in a box, preventing your jewelry from being scratched or bent out of shape.
  4. Avoid spraying perfume or hair spray directly onto your jewelry.
  5. Do not wear your jewelry while cleaning with harsh chemicals or when coloring your hair.

What should I do if I have a reaction to the metal?

A number of things can cause your skin to react to gold or silver jewelry.
First and foremost, it is important to make sure you do not have an allergy to either of these metals. 
Second, you can be 100% confident our jewelry is nickel free. We work exclusively with certified suppliers and we are constantly looking for ways to improve even further the quality of the products we provide.
Third, it is not uncommon for small amounts of copper to be mixed into the alloy in 14k solid gold, the base metal in gold filled materials, and in 925 sterling silver. Some people may have a higher ph value in their skin or may sweat more where their jewelry meets the skin. Both of these issues can cause the copper to oxidize leaving a greenish mark where you wear your jewelry.

We suggest to remove your jewelry and polish it. Afterwards, wash the relevant area thoroughly with soap and water and wait for the reaction to disappear. If the reaction appears again you may want to consider applying a protective coating to your jewelry, such as clear nail polish. Or consult your healthcare provider if the reaction persists.  

What if I am unhappy with my product?

We handcraft all of our jewelry with great attention to detail and finish and do our utmost to give our customers the best product and service. We want our customers to feel confident with their purchase.

However, if for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can exchange it or get a refund (excluding shipping) – NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

What is the exchange / return policy?

Returns
Our policy lasts 90 days. If 90 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.

Non-returnable items:
Gift cards
Special orders, custom made orders, and sized rings


To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
Any item not in its original condition, damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
Any item that is returned more than 90 days after delivery.

Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.


Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at holylandstreasures@gmail.com and send your item to: Bekurei Anavim 58 Ashkelon IL 78310.

Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

Shipping

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
